Abby - in Maine!

Sweet Abby is more than ready to find forever love! She first came onto our radar last year when our southern rescue partners were able to bring her to safety. She had stepped in a rabbit trap and gotten her foot stuck while she was pregnant with her babies. She had the pups under an abandoned house; once the babies were mobile our rescue friends were able to capture them and then Abby. Since she was heartworm positive she had to stay in the south to get treated; her puppies came north to us and all got adopted. They must have gotten their sweetness from her so we are looking forward to Abby finding a home too. She can be shy at first but warms up well. She has lived with older children and might be a little too much for very young ones. Once she is comfortable she becomes really playful and a lot of fun.

 

She is 3 yrs old and 60 lbs.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
