If interested in Abigail or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster families. It is our expectation that, once approved, you will visit the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
We need a foster placement for Abigail in order to bring her north to safety.
Abigail - foster needed
Abigail has been through quite a lot! She was wandering stray for years in a very rural part of Arkansas. A local family noticed that she was quite pregnant and called our rescue partners. About a week after going into foster care she gave birth to her beautiful babies. She was heartworm positive, which is typical in the south since most people don’t give preventatives.
Abigail is the mom of the A puppies (Amelia, Abby, etc) that came up to us in October and got adopted. She had to stay behind for heartworm treatment but now she is healthy and ready to go! Abby is a bit of a couch potato and likes to hang out with her foster family. She does well with other dogs but will let them know who is boss if she feels it is necessary. Abby hasn’t been around cats but she doesn’t have many teeth so she probably couldn’t hurt one! She does well with a routine, and small kids would probably make her wary; older kids are fine. Abby loves to just chill with her humans and get lovin’! The vet estimates she is at least 5 years old but they don’t know her exact age. She weighs about 45 lbs.
This sweet and special girl is ready to retire from having babies and just be loved on herself!
