Abbi - in Maine!
Latest update: August 2015
The A pups are growing big and strong! Their beautiful mama Abigail was saved by our southern rescue partners; she a stray being fed by some local people there, and when they realized she was hugely pregnant they called for help. The rescuers got her to safety in a foster home just in time. She gave birth March 31 to 7 babies but two did not survive. Her 5 healthy babes are growing up big, strong and healthy. Mama certainly appears to be a lab mix but the babies seem to also have some spaniel or another speckled breed in them! They like the water and are wonderful with other dogs.
Abbi is living with male and female dogs and cats and a kitten as well. Her Maine foster mama tells us,
“Abbi is a sweetheart and has a medium energy level - she never even jumps! She is playful but not rough at all which I think is great for such a young girl. She will be nervous at first, but I have found she comes to us or even the dogs for comfort rather than running away or hiding herself. She is awesome with our male cat and female kitten. She goes around and stays away from our noisy cat, but is friendly towards our sweet kitty and plays with supervision- never hurting or chasing her- just nosing and mouthy on her.
Every time we socialize her she is better and better. Better on walks around cars, dogs, people, and random noises. “
Please note: We do not have a physical facility where the dogs are kept. They are cared for in foster homes throughout New England and once your application is approved, the expectation is that you will meet the dog(s) in their foster placement where they are feeling safe and loved.
If you are interested in applying for any of our sweeties, please fill out the application here, or you can request more information by emailing us at .
Thank you for considering rescue!
