Addie - in Maine!

Newest update: February 2020

A note from Addie's foster mom (Feb 2020):

  • "I have been fostering Addie for a few months, she is a very sweet girl. She loves to cuddle, that’s one of her favorite things to do. She is an extremely smart girl and loves to play ball and also loves her toys. Once she gains your trust, her personality is hysterical. She makes me laugh all day long. She would be very good if her forever family is into any type of agility training, she would really love that. She is very fast and super agile. Baby gates do not hold this girl back, she just hops right over them. She does have a couple of little quirks though...she gets nervous in new environment and does not do well in a chaotic environment, she prefers a quiet household. I have 9 grandchildren, and she has been sweet to all of them when they come to visit. Addie sometimes feels threatened by men, which I am sure comes from her past experience before she was rescued by Lucky Pup. She loves other dogs, she is very attached to my two labs. She is completely housebroken and likes her crate at night, but also loves to cuddle in bed with you. Once she gets in that bed she curls right up and goes to sleep. Her ideal forever home would be a single lady with another dog, but I feel she would do well as being an only child. She needs time to decompress in a new home and get to know her new family without being overwhelmed in any way during the “get to know you” phase. She needs an experienced dog person that can understand her anxiety, read her body language and help her through her fear. She is not in any way an aggressive dog, she just lacks confidence and she does sometimes feel threatened by people who don’t respect her boundaries. I have seen a huge improvement in this area since I have had her. She needs reassurance and someone that can build up her confidence. I can’t stress enough how loving she is to ‘her people” and I know that the right person for Addie will think the same as I do about her. She deserves that special someone who will love her and give her the happy life she deserves, she has earned it!"

Gorgeous Addie is a boxer mix who is a year old and weighs approx. 35lbs. Before Addie was rescued, she was found running down the road dragging a chain. Noone ever claimed her but that’s their loss!  Addie loves doggy day care as you can see in the photos, she's a ham!

If you have interest in meeting Miss Addie, please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
