If you have interest in meeting Bear or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed. They are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.

Bear - in Maine

Posted Feb 2018

Bear is a 13 year old Cocker Spaniel who is such an incredibly handsome & distinguished gentleman, he weighs 28 lbs and is just so much fun!

Sadly, Bear's human mom developed some health concerns of her own that make her unable to care for him any longer. Bear has had some health issues over the years himself but his family has always done the very best they could to make sure he was given the medical care that he needed. Bear has been on medication for sometime which has successfully kept him from having seizures. It is very important for his new family to keep him on his daily medication, luckily this is very inexpensive. Bear has undergone a couple surgical procedures over the years, one when he had to have his left eye removed & then in 2016 he had a couple of mammary masses removed with biopsy results stating that  they were completely excised and he is ready to roll. Recently, through a wonderful collaborative effort of dedicated friends, animal rescue volunteers & the community, funds were raised in order for Bear to have a much needed vet exam & dental procedure.

Bear recently transitioned to one of our foster homes where he is showing just how sweet & youthful he acts for his age. He loves to interact around the other dogs & roll in the snow.  His favorite thing to do is to be close with his people, he will follow his foster mom around & always be right next to her. He was also just treated to a spa day & thoroughly enjoyed being pampered, many thanks to Kathy’s Grooming, Kathy said Bear is welcome back anytime as he was such a good boy :) One thing we have discovered is that this guy needs is a patient & understanding family to work with giving him a refresher on house training.

If you are looking for a sweet, loving companion that still has plenty  of zest for life then Bear may be the one for your family.
