Coco is an 8 year old sweetie who has been through a lot. She appears to be a shepherd mix and while she weighs about 75 lbs now, she still needs to lose some more weight (our rescue partners helped her take off 7 lbs so far!) The vet says that she had a “degloving” injury at some point in the past and it has healed over but it does cause her to limp occasionally and her nails grow in funny ways on that foot. Coco is housetrained and does not need a crate when left alone. She can successfully live with most male dogs or a very submissive female but she would also love to soak up all the lovin’ as an “only” in her retirement years. We have no information about cats. She hasn’t been around small kids much but seems nervous with them, but older respectful children seem OK.
When Coco arrived in Maine she was a little shy at first but warmed up to her new human friends. She will make someone a calm and loving FURever friend!
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
