Ella - HOLD!

*no new applications accepted at this time*

Most recent update:  May 2021

My name is Ella and I have endured more than most puppies of my age could imagine. You would never know it because they tell me I am resilient and wonderful. I love everyone and whoever meets me can’t help fall in love. I am in a southern foster family who adores me and they are pretty great too – they have human kids and other dogs and we are all friends.

Now you might look at my body and see scrapes and scars in different places. I was thrown from a moving vehicle and then attacked by a dog that was twice my size – that was a rough day! Luckily a very nice person scooped me up and brought me to the vet. I had injuries and a dog bite and needed medicines and fluids to get me well. I was super brave and made a complete recovery. Not only that but I don’t hold a grudge against humans or other dogs because of it.

I want to meet your family if you are nice and cuddly and love to go on adventures. I love to be in the action of playing, walking, and hanging out. I would do best in a family with another friendly canine and I LOVE to give kisses. I am a smarty pants, doing great with basic training, housetraining, and loving on everyone! I am just 5 months old and 24 lbs, I will be a great medium size as a grownup!

**May 12th update: Ella has arrived into foster care in Maine and is doing SO amazing! She is a typical puppy in a lot of ways – mouthy when excited, full of energy, learning what a leash is all about, and being a nut. She is very smart and tries to get the other dogs to play. One of the female dogs in the home is more submissive and she does well with Ella, the other is more dominant and not as happy with the puppy energy. Ella is a vocal player. An adult male dog or another young dog might work well but she could also do very well as an “only”. Ella would benefit from training like any pup.

We think an experienced dog-loving family would make the most sense for her so that they can help her continue to grow into her sassy self. She is a total snuggler and love the kids on the home that are older and dog-experienced.

If you have interest in meeting Ella or any of our sweeties please fill out the adoption application

*Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
