Hildy just loves when her people are nearby. She very much wants to be an only dog and to live out her retirement years with just humans. She is currently living with two male dogs and she can be bossy with them but with training could likely learn to coexist if she had to. She is active for a dog of her age but does not need a ton of exercise like a younger lab. Hildy is a big love of a girl! She is too over-interested in the cats in her foster home and will chase critters outdoors. A feline-free home would be best for her.

She is a strong girl who will pull on leash. She lives in the country right now and that type of home is what this girl is looking for!  She is the happiest with her humans on a warm couch with a moderate amount of daily exercise. She really likes to play also.

Hildy is beautiful and so very sweet, we want her to find a wonderful placement where she can relax and be herself.

Hildy is being fostered in western Maine while she waits for a wonderful family to give her a retirement home.

Hildy

Hildy is a gorgeous older girl who does not act her age for sure - she is approx. 9 years old and has so much life to live! She is a lab or lab mix and was a local surrender who had more strength and energy than her adopter, a senior woman, could safely manage. Hildy is a big girl at about 80 lbs and she has the energy of a young lab but also loves to snuggle on the couch during family time. She LOVES her humans, from babies to seniors. She can have difficulty meeting other dogs on leash but she has successfully lived with dogs from tiny terriers to a golden retriever. Her canine buddy in her foster home is a male shepherd and they get along just fine. Her best buddy is a 12 year old human who Hildy adores.
