Jet - in Maine!
Posted June 2021
This handsome fellow is Jet. He was found stray and is a petite little lab mix who is 45 lbs right now and is just under a year. He appears to be a lab/pitbull mix, and is all kinds of adorable!
Jet gets along with other dogs well and has lived with a cat. In his Maine foster home he is very enthusiastic with the cat who doesn’t always appreciate that and they are mostly kept separate. With good consistent leadership and a dog-savvy cat, Jet should do OK. He adores children and is just so sweet.
He is working hard on housetraining and making improvements every day. He is learning about a leash and does well. The first time he had a harness on, he froze in his tracks and wouldn’t move until it was taken off – luckily he’s tolerating it much better now and he is starting to learn commands like “sit”
When Jet arrived to us, like most dogs Jet was a work in progress. His foster family has worked hard with the housetraining and he is much more consistent, He loves going on walks and is learning that’s a good time to do his business.
His one vice is that he still has a lot of puppy behaviors like mouthing, especially when you are trying to attach his leash. His foster family is working with a trainer to help with that
He is very food motivated and they use that to help with training. He is smart, attentive and a medium energy dog. He snores when he sleeps and he snuffles like a little pig when he is sniffing. He is a fun and funny guy and we adore him!
