Karen - in Maine!

Most recent update: October 2017

Karen is 7 months old as of mid-October and she is so sweet and quite shy at first meeting, unless you are a dog friend ; 0 )

Mom is a terrier and Dad is a German shepherd so we like the designer term “German Terriers” ; 0 )

These girls LOVE to play in the water.  She is about 40 lbs and so beautiful with her brindle coat. She comes out of her shell a little more every day but she really lights up and plays crazy when she is with her two foster brothers (Luke and Logan are Lucky Pup alumni!)

When Karen is feeling safe, like in the company of her foster mom, she will let people approach and she can be very gentle and take treats. If she is feeling less safe she will retreat and curl up into the smallest ball possible.

attached to my chair but she was just really curious and open to kids and adults approaching her. She is learning commands and she will sit for a treat, come when called when she is not off following her nose. She is sweet and smart and loves to chase a ball (but is not interested in bringing it back right now). Karen is all teenager puppy-ish, not knowing what to do with her long and growing legs! She will give a new family lots of joy if they are patient and help her to continue building her confidence.

Karen is quite food-motivated. She is crate-trained and sleeps the night away in her crate. She is doing well on housetraining, making progress every day. She walks pretty well on her leash and she has met horses (not afraid at all)

If you have interest in Karen or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
