Lilly

Posted June 2021

Lilly is a one year old mixed breed girl who weighs about 40 lbs. We don’t know her breed mix because her paperwork says “mixed” – her foster thinks possibly a heeler mix, but there could be plott hound, shepherd or any other breed in there! We do know that she is a gorgeous girl who needs good direction and assertive owners. She is learning how to live in a pack with humans and dogs. She lives with 5 dogs but she is too much for the cats in the home. She will try to bully the “softer” dogs but with good leadership from her people (and dog savvy assertive cats) she is doing well.

Lilly is great on a leash, housetrained, and crate-trained. She thrives on routine and structure and benefits from short, consistent commands. “Lilly, cookie” in a sweet voice works for recall, but NO, BACK keeps her from trying to follow her human out of the gate. She is super smart and will need stimulation for her body and brain. Lilly is not a dog for a first-time owner. She might be a great sporting dog but definitely needs an active family.

Interested in meeting Lilly  or any of our other sweeties? Check out our adoption application.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
