Lucy - in Maine

Lucy is the most amazing little lady. She is a petite little thing at approximately 30 lbs. She is 10-12 months old so she may fill out a little more. Not only is she adorable but she’s smart, because she wandered up to the home of a dog loving family in the south and they were able to get her medically updated and placed through one of our partner rescues. They SO wanted to keep her but their adult dog wasn’t tolerating her puppy shenanigans. Lucy is great with dogs and kids and when she met cats she was interested but not predatory.
Lucy’s foster mom tells us, “she is a dog who wants to be with her people. She will demand attention by sitting in front of you and ‘talking to you’ (barking and making noises) until you pay attention to her. She has a very expressive face and the sweetest personality. She is eager to please and super smart. She knows the commands sit and no. She is housetrained and does well around respectful children. She occasionally gets anxious when her people are around but she can’t get to them, and she will inappropriately chew to soothe herself. Most times it’s only chew toys and she loves stuffed toys with squeakers and crinkles. She will need them removed before she de-squeakers them because she tries to eat them. Lucy enjoys other dogs and likes to play with them. She does very well in her crate, she goes in and settles down and waits patiently for play time”

If you have interest in meeting Lucy or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
