Luke - in Maine!
Posted November 2019
Luke is a sweet, tender-hearted guy. He was originally from an unwanted litter and ended up at a southern shelter where our rescue partners stepped in. He quickly became a favorite of the shelter volunteers as he became more outgoing and the staff members would go take him out extra times to play with him and let him hang out and feel more comfortable. At the vet’s office he was out back playing with the staff for the longest time getting so much loving! He has just blossomed and is loving life. He thinks he is a lap dog and will give unlimited kisses and accepts belly rubs like a champ.
Luke is learning stairs for the first time and actually learned to use the elevator at a doggy day care he attended!
Luke is only 7-8 months old (as of October) and weighs 55 lbs.
Since coming to Maine he has been living with two other male dogs and loves everyone. He rides in the car quite nicely in a crate and he is playful and fun. Luke is treat motivated and will sit on command. He walks well on a leash and was curious about the cats he met.
Luke is so motivated by humans now that he will put his head on your leg to be petted.
If you have interest in meeting Luke or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
