Blue - in New England

Newest update: March 2023

Blue is a beautiful 5 yr old husky mix who finds himself in need of a new home. He was recently adopted into New England by a southern rescue and had to be surrendered due to job loss of his human.

Blue is amazingly handsome with his beautiful coat and dazzling blue eyes. He’s a medium size guy at 50 lbs. He is good-natured and friendly, not aloof like some huskies can be. He is an enthusiastic walking companion but does pull.  He loves being outside to explore and play. He would be a great hiking or running buddy. He is agile, athletic and loves playing with toys.

Blue is able to be crated but barks and howls if he is in his crate alone,  so apartment living is not for him.  He likes people of all ages and gets along with cats and other dogs. Blue has been exposed to kids of all ages including toddlers, and does well. He is super smart and knows some commands.

Blue’s former dad says he is a love bug and a champion snuggler, loves socializing, likes to sleep by you while you watch TV and doesn’t mind being touched and groomed. He is a stunner so gets lots of compliments wherever he goes. He does not jump  and he is great in the car. For quick trips he rides without a crate in the car but for longer journeys he does best in a crate.

Blue does counter surf so needs continued training with this; he is used to a spray bottle for corrections. Blue has been learning to ring a bell at the door to go out. Blue is not very treat-motivated but responds well to physical praise and toys.

Blue is living in a wonderful foster home with a smaller female dog and he is great with her and other dogs that he meets. He is such a sweet boy!

If you have interest in meeting Blue, please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
