Maddie - in Maine!

Newest update: April 2020

Maddie is a friendly 3 yr old girl who is approximately 46 lbs. She appears to be a lab mix, maybe with bulldog or boxer with that squishy face. She likes  people and dogs once she gets used to the messages they are sending. Maddie can appear defensive at first because she has a big bark when she encounters new situations and is loud in play also. When she wants to meet someone she gets in a low play bow and gets all wiggly but she can be a  bit unsure at first. When introduced properly she warms up quickly. Maddie is not a dog for first time dog owners.

Maddie is gaining confidence in a foster home with three other dogs and she is exploring and figuring out her place in the pack. We think it would be  good for her to be with a confident dog in her new home but sh may enjoy being the center of attention as well.  Maddie has had a mixed reaction to children so we will only consider a family with older children or adults only. She is smart and learned her obedience commands quickly.  Maddie’s new owners will need good leadership and training to help her be the awesome girl she has shown

Maddie was adopted in 2016 as a puppy and recently returned to us so she can find a home with the right combination of leadership, training, and activity level.  Maddie loves toys and sticks and can be active and  playful but will throw herself down with the other dogs or the humans as well.

If interested in Maddie or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are safe and loved.
