Marmalade - in Maine!
Latest update: September 2017
This beautiful and sassy lady was rescued off of "craigslist" by one of our volunteers. Thank goodness she did, at her own expense, because Marmalade was in very rough shape with her skin especially. It's typical of Sharpeis to have skin issues and clearly the person had no idea how to care for it. The last few pictures are "before' while the gorgeous new pics show her hair growing back in and her looking fabulous.
Marmalade is about 4 years old and 53 lbs. She has been to the vet with us to get her skin, digestion, and overall health improved and to get updated on vaccines, heartworm testing and preventative, and is on a wonderful food that keeps all these things in check. It definitely costs a bit more but Marmalade is 100% worth it and will thrive as long as she continues on this. She has gone from being a relatively passive girl, tolerating everything along the way, to being quite a personality-filled girl. She has been to a recent event with us and she charmed everybody! She is living with multiple dogs, cats and birds and she is wonderful. She goes to the dog park and loves everybody!
Miss Marmalade is looking for a family to call her own. A sharpei-experienced home will be ideal but if you're willing to learn we can help.
If you have interest in meeting Marmalade or any of our sweeties please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical location where the dogs are housed, they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved through the rescue, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
