Matthew - in Maine
Most recent update: April 2020
Matthew is a much-loved four year old hound mix who was surrendered back to the rescue due to the health issues of his mom. Matty, as he is called, had fun at daycare but is really loving life in his foster home where he has a doting mom and dad and a willing canine buddy who likes to play! Matthew can have difficulty meeting some new men but has loved all women he has met and will learn to trust you once he gets to know you. His foster dad has won his heart ; 0 )
Matthew likes other dogs, has lived with cats without issues, and he just desperately wants to be with you. He weighs 56 lbs and is a tall guy who thinks he is a lap dog. Back when they arrived at the end of 2016 this litter of dogs was so endearing that almost all the siblings got adopted by their foster families; they all have been so loved and so much fun.
This guy will give you a lifetime of snuggles if you give him a chance to join your family. His foster mom tells us, "He’s super sweet, he loves to cuddle and get pets. He also loves running and playing fetch more than anything. He’s super smart and learns what we are asking of him really quickly, he wants to please. He also does really well uncrated while we are gone working during the day." Matthew would not be a good fit for first time dog owners, or for families with very small children. Older respectful children would likely do great with Matthew.
If you are interested in Matthew or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
