Memphis - in Maine
(no new applications accepted)
Memphis is a sweet Lab/Hound mix and is seven months old (as of mid-February). Our partner shelter tells us that
someone saw this precious boy chained up and reported it so one of the officers went and got him. Memphis was terribly underweight and had scars on his back legs from getting tangled up in the tether. He has put on weight and is doing great! Here is his information:
Memphis is such a gentle soul! He is so sweet and affectionate and is always ready for a pet and a cuddle. He is very handsome with his golden coat and sleek and slender frame. Memphis is a well-mannered companion on daily walks and loves to run and play in the shelter yard.
He very much wants to please and should be easy to train. Memphis has a great move where he will stand up on his back legs to "dance" for you. He will also sit on command for the reward of a treat. Memphis will be such a wonderful companion and the love and devotion are guaranteed! He is a favorite of everyone at the shelter.
The staff says he does well with other dogs, too. On our Meet Your Match Evaluation, Memphis was: Orange-Busy Bee – “I’m a naturally playful, curious and trusting canine. Take me for a big walk every day; give me something to do. After my job’s done, I’ll curl up in front of the fire with you in the evenings.”
At a recent vet visit Memphis was giving kisses to everyone. At the groomer he didn’t love to have a bath and kept trying to jump out of the tub – he probably never had one before!
If you have interest in Memphis or another of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application. Please note: our dogs are not kept at a physical facility; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
