Here is a video of Nicole at a training session:
Nicole - in New England!
*Foster or adopter needed*
Latest update: February 2018
Check out her video below!
Nicole is a darling and beautiful girl who also has some special needs. She is 5 years old and is a mixed breed girl who is approx. 52 lbs. We see some hound in there but no idea what else she is made up of. A veterinarian told her former owners she is likely an Entlebucher Sunnehund which is the smallest of the Swiss Mountain Dogs.
She was returned to us because she was having trouble with the other dogs in the home. She worked with one of our trainers and we found that she is very shy at first but then once she warms up she is able to trust you and even show off her smarts such as with agility or obedience. She does well with some other dogs but is nervous with others. Nicole is so sweet and smart and loves structure. Nicole is staying with our friends at White Mountain College for Pets and we will provide some continued training support if a family is interested in fostering or adopting Nicole. She is good with older children but we don't have info about very young kids. She has met cats and would require management. We could see Nicole as an "only" pet soaking up the attention from an active older family. The trainer working with her says,"Whoever gets her is going to be a lucky person."
Nicole has a seizure disorder which is well-controlled with medication and takes a joint supplement to help her keep healthy and mobile.
Nicole is looking for a new home with patient owners who will help her with leash walking and building trust.
Please note: we do not have a physical location where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network. If interested in Nicole or another sweetie, please fill out the adoption
Thank you for considering rescue!
