Oakley - in Maine!
Posted January 2019
Just like your favorite sunglasses, once you have him you won’t want to be without him. Oakley is a sweetheart and is doing well in his foster home. He is a 2 yr old hound mix who weighs approx. 55 lbs. He just loves to chill at home and also likes being outdoors going on adventures with his family and he loves other dogs. He likes to play with cats so if there is a feline sibling they have to be able to set boundaries. Oakley has spent time with older children and does well - we don’t have info on younger children at this time but there’s no reason to think he would not do awesome.
Oakley is so sweet-natured that we feel he would fit into most any active family. He likes toys (especially ripping the stuffing out) and loves to be around people. He also loves peanut butter treats and playing. He doesn’t love the crate but he does go in it and he loves other dogs.
Oakley is a local surrender, and one of our volunteers went to meet him. He observed this smart boy knowing several commands such as sit, paw, lay down and come. He walked pretty well on leash and seems to be a quick learner. Oakley takes treats gently.
If you have interest in meeting Oakley or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
