Ollie - in Maine!
Ollie is approximately 3 years old and weighs around 40#. We are not sure of his breed but certainly appears to have some Border Collie or other herding breed.
This spunky little guy was recently returned to our rescue as his family's working situation changed leaving him home alone way too much. Ollie is intense, young and very active so this was particularly hard for him and we are looking for a fresh start for him with a new family.
Currently at one of our amazing doggie daycare foster locations Ollie is getting to release lots of his energy , however his interactions are supervised very carefully. He does okay with most dogs but has a harder time around other males or in larger groups. He also clearly wants to try and assert some of his herding traits & we have also discovered that he is a little food protective around food with regard to other dogs.
Ollie loves people of all ages, he previously lived with children and was always very good with them. He loves snuggle time and will put his front legs around your neck to give you hugs.
We are looking for a family that will be prepared to put a little effort into some "back to basics" training and most importantly give him an active lifestyle. He would make a great hiking dog or for someone interested in getting involved in dogs sports like flyball or agility.
If you have interest in meeting Ollie or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England.
It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
