Penny 2 - in Maine
Posted October 2022
This beautiful girl is "Penny 2". She was adopted from our rescue in 2021 but is coming back to find a new family without small children.
Penny has received training and has some great skills in obedience and on and off-leash work. She gets along with other dogs but can be possessive over high value toys or food. She is a dog who needs mental as well as physical stimulation to use her smart brain and tire her out. She acts bored if she does not have exercise, stuffies and chew toys so an energetic person or family would be ideal for this sweet lady! Since her training, she does well on a leash but an owner has to focus on working with Penny and not allowing her to lead the way. She will jump up when she gets excited. She likes to chase and play and is an awesome hiking body. She is a champion snuggler once she gets to know you!
Penny is crate-trained, house-trained, and has been trained on an invisible fence. When people come to the house she will bark at first but settles down. Penny is 43 lbs and 2.5 years old
Penny’s former owners think she’d be OK as an “only” as long as she has attention and exercise consistently during her day.
If you are interested in meeting Penny 2 or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
