Maggie - In Maine
Newest update: April 2020
This girl deserves a break, and a forever connection. She is so cute and a great medium size and many people want to adopt Maggie just on looks alone, but she is one of our tougher dogs. She has difficulty meeting and trusting humans. She is an active three year old girl who needs a good amount of physical and mental stimulation, as most cattle dogs do.
Maggie came to us as a young girl but hasn't been able to find the right placement where she can thrive. She is a teeny thing, about 25-30 lbs. Maggie likes most other dogs and was anxious in a home as an "only" so she needs another dog to keep her busy. She is a hard player so a canine buddy should be active like she is, and Maggie would likely love to do some canine sports.
Maggie takes time to bond and she would not be appropriate in a home with children. She loves her people once she gets to know them. Most men take longer for Maggie to warm up too. She is not a dog for first time dog owners, but for a person or couple who is willing to continue training with her. She is staying with our friends at Kompletely K9 Dog Training and Rehabilitation.
Maggie needs clear rules , good and patient human leadership, and canine companionship. She would not be appropriate in a home with cats.
