Rae - in Maine!

Newest update: June 2016

Rae is a 1 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. She was left in the parking lot of a vet’s  office; luckily, they called our southern partner rescue and she was saved. She is good with kids, cats and other dogs, she is sharing a home with all of those right now!

Rae is only 30 lbs, such a GREAT medium size! If interested in her, it will be important to read up on the breed so that you understand their activity level and habits such as herding other animals and potentially children.  If you don’t give her a job to do, she will take one on. They can be stubborn and independent dogs but she is proving to be a great family dog who requires a good amount of exercise.

Rae came to us and was acting a little "blue" and not her happy perky self. We thought possibly it was because we placed her as an "only" in foster. When we moved her to a home with another dog, it was like a whole new dog! She is happy, healthy and energetic but not crazy busy. There is a young boy in the home and Rae sleeps in bed with him when she is not playing with her dog buddy.

If you are interested in meeting Rae or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed. They are cared for in our wonderful foster network. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the  foster placement where they are feeling safe and loved.

Thank you for considering rescue!
