Rose - in Maine!

Posted June 2022

This beautiful Catahoula Leopard Dog is Rose. She was taken in with 4 of her sisters by our southern partner rescue after a teenager in their home contacted the rescue begging for help. They had 16 (yes SIXTEEN) dogs crammed in their rental home (that didn’t allow dogs). They were very unsocialized and not ready for families but their southern foster family and now her foster home in Maine have been working with her and Rose is coming out of her shell! She is great with other dogs and is doing great with her crate and with housetraining. Rose starts out a bit shy but comes out of her shell with love and patience. She hasn’t had experience with very young kids but older respectful kids should be fine for Rose.

Rose is 1 year old and is a petite 35 lbs. She may fill out a bit more but won’t get much bigger if at all. She has the gorgeous two-toned eyes that many catahoulas have. An Indian legend tells us that dogs with two different colored eyes can see Heaven and Earth at the same time. Love that!

If you are interested in meeting Rose or any of our sweeties please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed, they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England.

It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
