Storm is your typical victim of the Christmas puppy – the family wanted a new dog, the dad decided they could only have one so they turned her into a southern shelter right before Christmas. She is about 65 pounds of sweetness and energy. Her breed was listed as lab/great dane mix but since she is already two years old she won’t be growing into great dane size ; 0 )

She walks nicely on a leash if there are no distractions but can be a puller, especially if other dogs or people are around. We are going to get some training support for Storm so she can easily be handled on leash for her new family.  She sits on command and is learning “down”.

An active family is a must for Storm and we think she would bowl over young children. The shelter thought a dog of similar size and energy would be the best type of match but we are finding that she may want to be an only dog in her new home. Storm rides well in the car in a crate and is a happy sweet girl! Her vet checked her out thoroughly because her original paperwork indicated she had surgery last year to put a pin in her femur. We don’t know what type of trouble she got herself into but she is healthy and not slowed down at all now!

If you are interested in learning more about Storm, please fill out our adoption application.

Please note: We do not have a physical location where the dogs are housed ;they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
