Shadow is a 1.5 year old lab/yorkie or lab/lhasa apso mix, he is actually the brother to the “A puppies’ – Alexis is available on our site too. Shadow was adopted from our southern rescue partners and just got returned because he is chasing the cats. He loves the other dogs and the children in the home and is great with everybody. He is house-trained and ready to roll. He is a sweet guy who weighs around 25lbs.
Shadow is described as a big, mellow, sweetheart of a dog who likes to ride in cars, is good with other dogs, and likes to snuggle. He walks pretty well on the leash but could still use a bit of training with this. He is housebroken and crate-trained.
He is shy at first when meeting new people, but does warm up. He is much more interested in people than other dogs.
Shadow is too interested in cats to live with them safely. He is going to need to stay on leash or long lead at all times and is not a dog who can be tied outside because he is much too interested in little critters outside, he would hurt himself or break a lead trying to chase. He has tried to scale a fence so that is important to know. He nearly got over a 10 foot fence to get to the squirrels in the woods.
Shadow really likes his food and it is typical of dogs rescued as adults that he can be a little protective of his food, so with any other pets in the home, he should be fed in the crate or separately.
What a doll Shadow is, let's find him a cat-free family to love him forever this time.
