Silver - in Maine!
Most recent update: November 2016
Silver is 5 1/2 months old (as of mid-Nov) and she is the last of the Avenger pups to be adopted! Her foster family is in northern Maine so people just don't want to make the drive to meet her - their loss!
Silver is doing really well in foster and she is getting used to the big dogs there. She tries to be a little bossy over food with the other dogs but not the humans. Silver is a good snuggler and a smart, sweet girl.
Silver’s foster mom thinks she would do very well with a family with children. She wants to be with you all the time. She has calmed down with the kitten (initially was chasing)and is just very curious but still a little rambunctious. She has a great appetite and is 99.9% housebroken. She is crate trained and loves to eat vegetables for a treat.
Silver’s foster family has three cats and foster kittens. At first Silver would chase and get excited around them but now she has calmed down with the cats with repeated exposure. If one of the cats gets into the kitchen area she will sometimes bark at them and other times she ignores them completely. As with anything, it’s just a matter of time and her “growing up”. She seems to want to play, but the resident cats are older and not interested. She will try to get to the kitten area wagging her tail and acting curious.
Their mom, Heidi, is a chocolate lab and they appear to be mixed with some type of hound. There is a hound dog in the extended family so we think he must be the daddy. These sweet babies have been fostered since birth with 4 children so they are very social and have been handled a lot since their early days. We always love to hear that! The girls are Pepper, Scarlet and Silver, and the boys are Spidey, Thor, and Stark.
If you are interested in one of the Avenger pups or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application or if you have questions, please email us at .
Please note: we do not have a physical location where the dogs are housed. They are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
