Oh sweet Skylar, what a doll! She is the beautiful mom to Sophia and Sadie, gorgeous Catahoula pups that came to us last year and got adopted. Skylar gets along great with the other dogs in her southern foster home and she loves to go for walks. She sleeps in her foster mom’s bed at night.
Skylar was rescued after she was allowed to roam loose and found some chickens for lunch. The landlowner threatened to shoot her so his father took Skylar in right before she gave birth to 7 puppies. He found homes for 5 but surrendered the last two with Skylar to keep her safe. Skylar is approx. 55 lbs. She has lived with older kids and been great.
Skylar needs to fed separately from other dogs and can be a counter surfer. The only time she is crated is when food is involved. If you can keep her out of your kitchen during cooking and eating she is fine at all other times out of the crate. She will sit outside and watch for squirrels, or will join you in a long walk outside.
If you have interest in meeting Skylar or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: We do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
