Slim is a local surrender who finds himself in need of a new home with good leadership, no little kiddos, and a chance to show off that he can be the awesome little guy he is meant to be! Slim is a jack Russell/Cairn Terrier who is turning two years old shortly and is
11 lbs.
Slim is showing some over-protectiveness of his mom and has some of the nervous behaviors that small dogs can have, like nipping at heels and calves, making him a poor fit with the young child in his home who will be crawling and walking soon. He responds very well to good leadership and has had some training so he has some great skills in obedience, leash walking, house training and crate-training.
Slim does well with dogs his size and has had fun even with some larger dogs but can be a little snippy when he is outsized, such as a German Shepherd dog in his extended family. Slim lives with a cat that is just about his size and they are pals; they even wrestle and nap together, which is the cutest!

Slim likes to go on adventures like hiking and he is a champion snuggler!
If you are interested in Slim or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
