Jaxson - in Maine!

Posted February 2022

This sweet boy was found by one of our southern rescue partner running alongside of the highway with his friend Pepper. She could not just leave them there so she scooped them both up and he is loving life in his southern foster home. His foster mama says “Jaxson is an amazing, sweet wonderful dog. He must have had a good relationship with someone before he was dumped. He is a quick learner; I taught him to sit in 5 minutes. Loves his food and treats! He loves to lean on you when he wants to cuddle. Jaxon is perfect around our grandkids, age 2 and 5. We don’t know about cats. He is well behaved and would be a wonderful only dog, or with a female dog. He is very energetic and needs daily exercise. A daily run with a human companion or a big fenced yard would be optimal. He will chase a ball or frisbie but will need more work on that. He loves to be a sofa companion, and will need chew toys. He is very agile and is such a delightful dog. We have put 4 months of love and effort into him and he will make someone an amazing life companion”

Jaxson appears to be a German Shepherd/cattle dog mix. He shows some herding dog tendencies such as being right by your side and nudging you with his nose to keep you in line. Jaxson did take some time to settle in after living life on the run so will need patience and structure like any rescue pup. Jaxson is 1-2 years old and 45 lbs.

If you have interest in meeting Jaxson or  any of our sweeties please fill out the adoption application.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
