This story will rip your heart out. Our rescue partner was driving in a rural area on a mission to help other dogs in need of rescue. As she was driving down the road, this dog was crossing the road slowly. Our friend slowed down to let her cross but as soon as she passed the dog started running after the van. She didn’t want to stop because she was already full with other dogs but once she started following the van she knew she had no choice. Snow White gave birth shortly after to 11 gorgeous pups on August 7th. They are 3 1/2 months old and weigh about 10 lbs each. Mom appears to be a shepherd/retriver mix (her hair is a little longer than a lab and she has a longer face like a shepherd). No idea about their breed mix but they are 100% adorable, we do know that!
The last photo is their mom, Snow White, on the day she was rescued.

These sweet babies were so fortunate to have dedicated rescuers and a wonderful mama. They were born underneath a house and they were kept out of reach by their mama Abby until they got curious enough to venture out to meet the humans. The whole time, Abby had a trap on her foot that had to be incredibly painful. She is now getting healthy and her sweet babies are having a blast in foster care waiting to come north.

The babies are 3 1/2 months old and weigh between 18 and 25 lbs so they will be great medium size babes. They all look like their black lab mama and are outgoing and fun and ready to find forever love.

They will be ready right before Christmas and we can't wait to meet them!

If you have interest in meeting any of the puppies or any of our other awesome dogs, please fill out the adoption application.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine and it is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
