Ginger - in Maine!

Sweet Ginger is looking for a new home to call her own that doesn’t have small children. She appreciates quiet routine and another dog to play with but could also live as an “only”. Ginger was adopted into a family with active children but gets too overstimulated in that situation. She is 3 years old and is listed as a lab mix but maybe some golden in there? She weighs approx. 48 lbs.
Ginger enjoys walks and has great leash manners, she doesn’t mind sitting to get her harness on. She meets new humans with excitement that might include some jumping, but will sit to get loving and is working on patience.
Ginger loves her furry foster brother and they play in the house and in the yard. She shares toys well with him and responds to human direction when they get too excited in their play. She is a food-motivated girl. It took her a little adjustment in her new setting to have a set meal time instead of grazing but she has adjusted like a champ.
Ginger LOVES snuggles on the couch and will put herself to bed at night. She sleeps with her crate door open and doesn’t make a peep until morning. During the day she is gated nto her room but doesn’t need her crate, just chills on her bed or on the couch.
Ginger is blind in one eye but it doesn’t stop her from playing like a sweet young pup except if you approach her from that side you should say her name first so you don’t surprise her.
This girl is not only beautiful, but such a love!
If you have interest in meeting Ginger or any of our other sweeties please fill out our adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
