Meet Gypsie! This girl has every reason not to trust humans. Yet somehow, she does. She was one of three young dogs abandoned in a public park, left behind in the public bathroom. Someone opened the door and they all ran out. It took days to catch them all and for them to find safety with our southern rescue partners.
We honestly can't imagine why anyone would let this beautiful girl go. She's such a sweetheart!
Gypsie is estimated to be around 9 months to a year old with our best guess for her breed as possibly a Jack Russel Terrier mix, she weighs under 30 pounds, so she's a wonderfully petite size and likely won't get much bigger. She's the perfect blend of playful adventure buddy and affectionate cuddle bug.
She absolutely LOVES giving kisses and thinks people are pretty wonderful once she gets to know them. She may greet new visitors with a few alert barks, but a little sweet talk and a few gentle pets are usually all it takes before she's made a new best friend.
If you have a tennis ball, you've already won her heart. She loves to chase it! Bringing it back? Well... she's still deciding if that's part of the game... Sometimes!
Gypsie already knows "sit", is highly motivated by meaty treats, and is doing a great job learning the rules of living in a home. Like many young dogs, she enjoys chewing, so keeping socks and other tempting treasures picked up will make everyone happier. She's great with dogs of all sizes and hasn't been tested with cats yet.
She's curious, adventurous, and always interested in exploring the world around her. Because she's athletic and may be capable of climbing a chain-link fence, she'll need a secure environment while she's settling in. Once she understands she's finally home, we believe she'll simply want to be where her family is.
And speaking of family... Gypsie has one very important request:
Please let her sleep in bed with you. Nothing makes this girl happier than curling up beside her favorite person after a day of playing and exploring. She has so much love to give and wants nothing more than to belong to someone who will never leave her behind again.

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
