Harper - in Maine
Last Update: March 2016
Harper is a 2-3 year old shepherd mix who weighs around 60lbs. She was rescued from a shelter about 2 hours before her time was up. She is now in foster care with our southern rescue partners and is doing great.
Harper is crate trained and housebroken. When they first got her she had separation issues but now she is doing fine with the other dogs in her life. She loves other dogs and kids, not sure about cats. She loves to go for walks or ride in the car. She sleeps in the bed at night and loves to cuddle. She also loves to play with a ball or Frisbee. Harper can be a little shy in new situations but she warms up quickly with some treats. She is afraid of some men but patience and treats go a long way.
Her foster mom says there is something about Harper that is very special that she can't quite put her finger on it – possibly the combination of this clownish personality she has at times which you can't help but laugh at and her loyalty and devotion to her people.
Harper loves to play fetch, check out her video here!
If interested in Harper or any of our sweeties please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our network of wonderful foster homes throughout New England. It is our expectation that, after being approved by the rescue, potential adopters will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
