Jin and Jiao - in Maine!
Newest update: February 2022

These sweet Pekingese boys were rescued by one of our wonderful southern rescue partners from a filthy hoarding situation. They needed a lot of medical care in the south and then they headed to Maine to make a new start in life. The vets estimated Jiao (pronounced "Jow") to be 5 years old, he needed to have one eye removed but is doing just fine. Jin is estimated to be slightly older at around 7 years.
They have been fostered with all types of dogs and cats and they do well with them all. They are good in their crates but need to be fed separately. The boys love to play & snuggle so we would like to have them adopted together since they are a bonded pair.

Feb. 2022 update:
These sweeties have been in their Maine foster home a little over a month and their personalities are really coming out! Jin is a tough little guy & Jiao is the comedian of the duo. They are both incredibly sweet and loving with anyone they meet but also quite happy just being in each other's company. They LOVE to wrestle with each other, it is so adorable to see the connection they have.
Since they arrived both have had some vet care to make sure they are as healthy as they can be! Jiao is getting daily drops in his “good eye” to make sure it has good tear production, which can be a typical need of small breed dogs. Jin was dealing with a urinary tract issue and has bladder stones so he is on a prescription diet so they will hopefully dissolve on their own. Jiao is 95% house-trained and Jin uses disposal diapers due to his current medical status.
We are so glad that our southern rescue partners were able to get these boys into their care and that we could follow up to have their needs further addressed. Like many smaller breeds these little dudes have HUGE personalities and we are so excited to see them flourish further as we work to get their medical issues resolved.
They will be happy to find a loving home together and we are enjoying them in the meantime!

If you have interest in Jin and Jiao or any of our sweeties, please fill out the adoption application.
Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved through the rescue, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
