Kirby

Posted February 2023

KIRBY is a petite chihuahua/min pin mix who is approximately 5 years old. She weighs 14 lbs and is SO much healthier and happy since being rescued from the streets of the southern US. She was found roaming with another small dog and now is in a wonderful foster home, gaining weight and learning to live in a home with people who provide love and nurturing. She is currently living with other dogs, big & small, has met a cat and did just fine, and is a little shy with very small kids but we think respectful children age 10 and up would do well with Kirby.

This little sweetheart can be a little protective over food which is common when dogs may have had to scrounge for food when they were younger. Housetraining is going OK but will require continued patience and consistency as she transitions again.

Kirby’s teeth are worn down the vet did not think it was age-related, more likely from chewing on things she shouldn’t have to. Kirby is an energetic little bundle who doesn’t know much about toys but once she gets her energy out she loves to nap and tuck herself under the blankets.

This super sweet and cuddly girl is looking for a new family to curl up next to and play with, and have some

new adventures in New England!

If you have interest in meeting Kirby or any of our cuties, please fill out the adoption application

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful foster network throughout New England. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
