Pictures don’t do this boy ANY justice – he is GORGEOUS in person – he is a mastiff mix and we think that he must be part catahoula as well with his mottled coloring. He is 18 months old and weighs 67 lbs.   He is a big goofball who loves to meet new people. He will stand right up for a snuggle with you if you let him. In spite of his size he is a gentle giant. He plays well with dogs, even much smaller than him, and he met a cat and could not have cared less, though in a different setting he chased cats so he would need dog savvy cats and good leadership.   He is an active boy who would love to have doggy siblings or soak up the love as an only. He loves every human he meets and will try to sneak into your lap, no matter the size of your lap!

 Brutus rides well in the car and does well in the crate. He is an enthusiastic walking companion and is working on settling down on a leash. He sits like a champ and loves to play with toys.

Brutus' charm, however, is his affection for people. He might knock over little humans because of his size but he is SUCH a lover!

Please note: we do not have a physical facility where the dogs are housed; they are cared for in our wonderful network of foster families throughout Maine. It is our expectation that, once approved, a potential family will meet the dog(s) in the foster setting where they are feeling safe and loved.
