Zephyr - in Maine!
Posted July 2026
Zephyr finds himself needing a second chance at FURever love. He was adopted into a home as an “only child” with fur and he is not feeling the best he could be; he loves to play with other dogs and would do well in a home with a confident dog and no small children. The family had a baby since adopting and Zephyr is fairly indifferent with their toddler who would like to be best buds.
Zephyr is approximately 7 yrs old and 40 lbs so a great medium size. We believe he’s a black mouth cur. Zephyr is a sweet and loyal family dog who does great out in the world but needs a calm routine without a ton of frequent visitors. His biggest challenge is when people come to the door and he needs good management to feel comfortable in this situation.
Zephr loves attention — pets, belly rubs, the works — and is playful at certain times of day. Generally he’s a low energy dog and would be great with a retiree who does not need a highly active companion, one who needs one good walk a day which is a highlight of Zephyr’s day.
He’s a sweet, loyal family dog who does great out in the world, but needs a calm home environment — ideally without kids or frequent visitors.

Zephyr lives with the family’s bird and is a little wary, but has never lived with feline friends.

Please note: it is our expectation that a potential family will meet any dog in the foster setting where the dog is feeling safe and loved.
